Recording, screenshots, new app filter modes, and more tools to keep your audience focused. Meet the next chapter of Raybeam.

Raybeam 2 expands region sharing into a broader set of presentation tools, while keeping privacy and accessibility at its core.

This release brings a redesigned app, recording and screenshots, more flexible app filters, and new ways to guide your audience's attention. Most new features are included for existing Raybeam owners at no extra charge.

Capture your work

Record your selected region or save a screenshot. Recordings support microphone and system audio, so you can capture a walkthrough as well as share one live.

More control over what's visible

App Filters now offer two modes: Privacy mode excludes the apps you choose, while the new Showcase mode includes only the apps you choose. You can organize apps into groups or scenes and enable or disable them together.

Keep your audience focused

Follow cursor. Move the capture region with your pointer, either near its edges or with the cursor kept in the center.

Laser pointer. Use a new drawing mode to point things out during a presentation.

Spotlight Clicks. Show a small animation when you click inside the region.

Dim outside the region. Make it easier to see which part of your own screen is being shared.

A workspace that fits your workflow

A redesigned application and customizable toolbar.

Preview and settings windows that can be pinned to the overlay.

A custom overlay color.

Toggleable keyboard shortcuts, with defaults changed from Command+Shift to Command+Option.

A Summon button in the menu bar window, replacing Select Region.

Standard and optional Pro

The base app remains a $9.99 lifetime purchase. Raybeam Pro is an optional $4.99/month add-on for 4K output, unlimited recording length, unlimited hidden apps, and Showcase mode. See the website for current plan details.

Thank you to everyone who has tried Raybeam and shared feedback. You can reach me at contact@raybeam.live.

A better way to screen share on macOS. Share a region of your screen, hide selected apps, and draw attention to what matters.

Sharing a 49-inch ultrawide monitor shouldn't mean making everyone on a call squint at your entire desktop—or stopping and restarting screen sharing every time you switch windows.

That frustration led me to build Raybeam: a native macOS menu bar app that lets you share a draggable, resizable region of your screen through your usual video conferencing app.

Share the part that matters

Choose the region you want to present, then share Raybeam's preview window in your call. Move and resize the region as you work, keeping the focus on what your audience needs to see.

Flexible region sharing. Share a selected part of your display instead of an entire monitor or a single application window.

Hidden Apps. Exclude selected applications, such as Messages or Discord, from the shared region even while their windows are visible on your own screen.

Drawing. Annotate the shared region by hand to explain an idea or point something out.

Keyboard shortcuts. Quickly change the region, toggle the live feed, and enter drawing mode.

Built from an everyday problem

Years ago, I built a small Windows app called FrameCast to solve this problem. Returning to an ultrawide setup on macOS brought the same challenge back—and gave me a reason to build a native solution.

I'm Nathan, a software engineer who usually spends spare time on open-source projects. Raybeam is my first paid application, and I'm excited to share it.

A one-time purchase

Raybeam launched on the Mac App Store at $9.99 for a lifetime license. For the latest features and pricing, see the Raybeam website.
